I've been playing in a band for 3 years, and I've done plenty of analog recording on a 4 track that I have. Someone in my band recently bought Cakewalk Sonar 5 as a gift for me. I would like to order a computer off of the internet that would be good for recording. Could someone explain or suggest a page that I could go to that would explain computer hardware for recording?

That's a hell of a gift :D
Check out the page studiomaster suggested, and as a basic guideline, get the fastest processor and the most RAM you can afford (anything P4 and over 1GB RAM will suffice) and definitely use a separate HD for running the audio.
Next you'll need an audio interface, and the Soundblaster that comes with it will not do (in terms of quality). Which interface you choose will depend largely on how many tracks you need to record simultaniously. If your interface does not include preamps, you'll need to buy those too. www.m-audio.com make a wide variety of inexpensive interfaces, it's a good place to start at least and get an idea of what's out there.
Good luck :)
