If somone helps you make a demo CD - lets say you pay them a small amount, or they volunteer as a freind - how do you handle it if you decide to sell the CD and you sell a fair amount, especially if you are selling the CD direct for cash?

(I think the issue would be clearer if you were selling thru stores etc because all purchases are recorded .... but still, you have to decide what %age to give to someone. And what if you travel to Small College town and stay in the holiday inn there...? that's your profits vs your wanting to be fair to the people who helped you)

I'd like to know what other people's experiences or opinions are about this

If you already paid the person a small flat fee, I wouldn't feel an obligation to give him a dime more. If he received nothing and you find your cd's going like hotcakes, throw him a few bucks.
