After a month of research, i've settled down for the Presonus Firebox.

I'd be recording Bass DI, Vox, Backup Vox, Acoustic and Electric guitars (mic'd). So i'd be dealing with the mic pres and two front inputs mostly, and won't be really using the line ins behind.

SM57, Studio Projects B1/C1 -or Rode NT1-A -or- AT 2020.

I'd be having 1 dynamic, 1 condensor for now.

How are the mic pres, convertors and latency on this box?

I'd most likely be recording one track at a time, at most 2 or 3.

Will this box suffice me?
Any experiences/opinions?

If you are planning on recording three tracks, you're gonna need those rear inputs.

And if you plan on recording anything in stereo, you're going to quickly run out of tracks, or at least be restricted to tracking each part individually.

But if you're down with that, go for it. You're not going to get more tracks than the Firebox easily without several hundred dollars in price increase.

3 is my max, i'd be doing 90% of my work with only 1 track at a time.

Mics cannot be lined in with 1/4"s right?

The firebox has 2 pres, 1 mic and 1 instrument, or is it both just pres which can input both mics and instruments?

Hows the latency, issues of pops clicks, digital distortion etc?

I've heard that the mic pres were good, but i also heard they were noisy.

Reviews of excellent convetors though.
