It's a dandy.
I'm setting to record our band's live gig, and it'll be 'set and go with almost no chance of audition' and review. I never used fig-8's for kit overhead before but my aim is for the near by amps into the nulls. The gig is in basically an old very high ceiling wooden warehouse with a beautiful decay so, hoping to get lucky with the back lobes.

Any who.. back to the modeler'. What's perhaps unintuitive (and I wanted to revisit' and each time it sticks better , is widening mic angle, narrows the image.

spill can be a good thing though, and can be used to your advantage, you won't ever truly remove the other instruments so you may as well use the spill as a creative effect, unless you are in a controlled acoustic environment that is ultra quiet and sounds good, like a pro studio live room
