Sorry I posted in this forum, but I'm pretty sure you guys no a good deal about live equipment.

I'm in a normal sorta local band that plays somewhat loud, and I was just wondering how much you think I would have to pay for a descent PA that'll have enough power.

Cause I sorta need a mixer too..... Not sure how much it would cost for a mixer either, plus i'll be using the mixer to record drums when I'm tracking (need maybe 5 inputs).

It all depends on what you're gonna be using this for. Is it for practicing or for playing in an arena - or perhaps somewhere in between. Peavey makes relatively cheap PA gear of decent to tolerable quality. I'm not so sure I'd get a Peavey mixer for tracking though.

Carvin makes some great stuff. I'm considering their 6 channel 200 watt system for my POD and my future GR33 and AG Stomp.

I've got a little Carvin PA with 6 channels, 200W, with 2 12" cabs, it works great for smaller gigs, mostly vocals with guitar sometimes. At their website, you can find a system that suits you with a price, www.carvin.com.

I agree that for cheap live gear Peavy is good. I have a 200watt Peavy power amp / mixer in my studio I just use for monitoring when my band plays live in the studio.

I don't know much about new Carvin gear, buy I visited the Carvin factory in CA about 20 years ago, and was impressed by what I saw. They are a serious outfit.
