Just a heads up really,
A new mic ribbon mic came out from sE last week, called the X1R.
We have reviewed it over the last few days and here's our X1R microphone review.
I thought you guys might find it interesting, it was definitely interesting to evaluate.

If anyone has any questions about the mic, or the review then just shout out...

In fact, has anyone else out there used one yet?

Tried a couple of different ones, including a presonus two channel thing -can't remember what the other one was, but in the end just took it out as it was going into an RME interface anyway and those micamps are pretty quiet.
On top of that, the mic output is fairly healthy for a passive mic - and most of the playing around was in front of an amp so there was no shortage of volume ;)

If you don't use a preamp -of course you're going to have to dial in some more gain at the mic amp but it wasn't more than you would expect your average usb interface to handle ok.
