SE Electronics SE-2000

So, I got an NTK from bayview pro audio...and, instead of the shockmount, they said i could get this mic.

I figured what the heck...i can get the shockmount cheaper anyways from a friend at GC.

So this mic sells for like $156 on the bay view website. It's like bayview partenred with "Cascade" mics, she said some of them were M-20, some were still labeled as the SE Electronics SE-2000.

That mic has a million different names-I think SE builds it, but will OEM it for any company that wants to put their name on a LD condenser. It's been seen in the wild as:

ADK
SE
Bayview
Cascade
Nady
Marshall
Behringer
Others that I forget....

There may be some minor internal tweaks, and it's been seen in a variety of colors (I kinda like the blue ones and the green ones...), but the overall concensus is that it's not that great (some have gone so far as to suggest that it be used for it's best calling-a paperwight or a doorstop...).

H2oskiphil, the mics you mentioned are not all made by SE Electronics. SE mics are made by Feilo (http://www.feilo-china.com/). The Behringer mics (I think) and a lot of other brands are made by 797Audio (http://www.797audio.com/) also located in China. Apart from those two, there are some additional factories such as Tenlux in Taiwan (website closed) who produce mics labeled Superlux, T.Bone, or Red5. They also make mics for other companies; I'm pretty certain the GrooveTubes/Alesis mics were made by Tenlux. It's pretty hard to find any reliable information.

Species 1-Unicondeserus feilous is the most common of the genus. All subspecies look nearly identical except for the plumage and markings, which can range from a very common grey and black to vivid greens and blues, often with gold tufts on the upper body and head. Common subspecies include:

Notice if you will the shape of the head, which differentiates this species from the unicondenserus 797us , which has a more trapzoidal shape to the head. The unicondenserus feilous can easily be confused with the condenserus neumannus u87i in appearance, but the first sound of it's song will end all confusion. Note, however, the physical similarities:

Species 2 unicondenserus 797us differs slightly in apperance, with a more trapezoidal head, but the familial similarities are unmistakable:

Both are common in nature, and can be seen in a variety of places, some of which (under a door, collecting dust at the back of a mic locker, holding down reams of paper, karaoke bars) are very unusual, and not necessarily what they were bred for.
