woooooohoooooooooooo!!!! this thing rocks, the postman brought it in this morning, and it really is a thing of beauty... some of those presets are similar to the korg pandoras box, hmmmm... oh well

se-50 my new favourite piece of gear!!!!!!!!

don't be ridiculous! everyone knows you can't go higher than 100% ;) :D

Have you tried out the vocoder patches yet? It's worth owning an SE-50 for that alone.

Scott

i like the delays alot, and that pitch shifter is very cool... but the main reason i bought the unit was for the reverbs, and it has'nt let me down yet

SE-50 is definitely a unit worth having -- unfortunately mine recently bit the dust -- for some strange reason the first 127 effects have turned into the same fuNked, uncontrollable, useless effect (with a 2 second pre-delay) and all the names have turned into funny characters... I think I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

Can somebody post a link so I can check this thing out? Hell.... I don't even know who makes it :D

The internal battery has gone dead. Replace it and it'll be as good as new.

right on -- I knew there had to be some reason, thanks for the heads up. I'll hafta try that tonight.

Mine has the same prob....I just leave it on, and reset it on powerup. I gotta get off my ass and change the battery on it some day.

Re: SE-50 vs VF-1

Was the Boss VF-1 supposed to have been the successor to the SE-50?

Does the VF-1 contain SE-50 patches?

I have been eyeing the VF-1 for a while, now.

JOAT

Actually the SE-70 was the successor to the SE-50. there may have been one more unit before the VF-1 hit the market. I am thinking it was a full 1 space rack unit.

Fishmed: Thanks a lot for the info. When the VF-1 came out, everyone kept comparing it to the SE-50 so I thought they were connected somehow.

So do you know it the VF-1 contain SE-50 sounds?

JOAT

and the SE-70

is this as worthy as everyone seems to think the SE 50 is? there's a cheap one on sale at a music store here...

thanks!

if what you are asking lilcapn is whether or not the boss se-70 is as good as the boss se-50, then the answer is .........

.... i think it is exactly the same, just that the se-70 also has a guitar synth and a bass synth... so in fact, IF i'm right, the se-70 is probably actually better...

hey mark102, there was one in this weeks trading post.....

"hey dad, theres an se-50 in the trader"
"se-50 hey?....whats he want for it?"
"$320"
"tell him his dreamin'" :D

damn kerrigans, i gotta stop watching that movie
