SDHC-Card Speed-Class question

I recently acquired a Tascam DR-2d and want to upgrade to a 32 Gb SDHC card from the little 2 gig card that came with the device. My question is: If I'm recoding music, do I really need anything faster than Class 4? I understand that speed is an issue for transferring music files between the recorder and computer, but it seems that for writing (recording), faster cards are needed mainly for HD video, not so much for audio. Is this correct? I will be recording primarily in WAV format at the highest bit rate and sampling frequency. Do these settings require a faster card?
