Schecter question...

Thats somewhat of a stretch. Though my C1 Elite was a great guitar, it just doesn't really hold a candle to my Les Paul Custom. :) In playability or in tone, really. But then again, they are different guitars and if one or the other is your thing then that's what you want to be getting anyways.

No wonder your Schecter doesn't "speak" to you.. Before I even changed strings on mine I swapped out those stock pickups. Now I have a guitar that I think is every bit as good, if not better than a PRS.

I will say that I have also owned the Tremonti SE PRS and it was a good deal for $368...

But it still is not as good as my Schecter C1...

problem is mine dont even "speak" unplugged to me :D

... again - dont misunderstand me ... there is nothing wrong with it ... its just like this chick-thing all over again ... I touch some and we click, and others we dont click  ... hahahaha

Oh yeah I know the C1 doesnt stand a chance against a Les Paul as far as feel and sound but $3000 ???? yikes... I dont know about that. Id be more willing to pay the $750 for the Schecter than the $3K for a LP even if it is a much better guitar.

I had a Schecter C-1 Classic with burst. It played great. I love the neck joint. I sold it and bought a PRS 24 Custom Artis. I love this guitar. Scecter has a wider nut so the cords were a little easer to voice. One guitar is very good the other is exceptional. The PRS has a hotter pick-up in the bridge. Like all things, it was the beauty of the guitar combined with sound. The schecter did not compare in the flawlessness in finish.

dude, an Artist series PRS is a $5,000 guitar! That's not the fairest comparison. :)

that is a bad link. My bassist has a schecter bass. it is almost 15 years old and is still reall nice

Bump -

I recently got a C-1 Elite (amber) and after adjusting the neck for super low action (surprised me how low I could go!), even with the Duncan Designed pups (which Seymour Duncan says are 95% accurate to the '59 and JB models) - I find it an excellent value. I've tried a TON of other guitars. Some great, some not so hot... the Schecter is a keeper IMHO.

YMMV.
