Just a simple question.
Is the SB live any better than the awe 64 value for recording?
Thanks.

Pier.

Yes... better A/D converters; also it's true full duplex, so you don't have to listen to a 12-bit playback stream or whatever it is while recording a new track.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Iv got a AWE64 and a SB Live and difference
is well worth getting rid of your old AWE64 its a true full duplex and that makes it more than worth getting.
meaning you dont get a shity 8bit playback?

I got both of 'em, never could throw either of them away.
Never could get the sblive to work right and so I currently do not use any of em, but I still like to have them around.

SB1024?

Yeah I'm ditching my AWE64 Gold a.s.a.f.p. - terrible playback stream while recording means I have to keep switching to Direct X driver in Cubase!

Anyone know if the new Soundblaster 1024 is a better deal than the SB Live! Value for recording audio?

Thx
Klytus

I've heard . . .

I've heard, but not yet tried, the Creative PCI Ensoniq'. I've heard the design hasn't changed since Creative bought the company that makes them, and it has an exceptional S/N ratio, better that anything Creative Labs puts out. The best part is they can be had for a whopping fifteen bucks.
