hey!

I know there are some linux users here, there HAS to be!

I've tried 3 Linux distros (ubuntu, mandrake, and... SLACKWARE -- about to try fedora) and none have been able to automatically detect my SoundBlaster AWE64!

I know it's in the slot (I believe it's PCI because it's beside my Audiophile; which i took out to see if that was the probelm.. it wasn't) cuz I opened it up to take out my Audiophile.

How do I manually make it detect my soundcard, and work?

Please, this is killing me!

(I'm thinking of ripping the the SB LIVE! out of the old computer... but I can't yet.)

I just did a quick Google search on that card with Fedora and it looks like it's supposed to work. There was a bugzilla report on the Redhat site for that card but it's listed as resolved.

I'd try Fedora and if it still doesn't detect the soundcard then try the command "system-config-soundcard"
