I have been messing around with a LaGrange/Satch Boogie hybrid jam.

Here's the first mix results.

This tune is a blast to play!
Hope you like it.

Not sure how the mix is, just finished this.

Ibanez JS1200CA guitar
Ibanez Bass
Custom tube pre amp
soundcard line on
Guitar Rig 3 used for all Bass and Guitar processing
Mixcraft 3 - recording and mixing
Beatcraft - drums

That rocked EL..!!! LOved the hybird take!!!

Some hot licks in there. Sounds good to my ears...but it's hard to stop listening to the overall coolness of it.

What kind of drum samples are you using? I like the hi-hat/ride taps..?

Hey thanks Daisy,

The samples are included with Beatcraft as different kits, there are a bunch of kits in Beatcraft, can't remember which one I used.

I can look and see if I can pull out the wav files for some of the drum sounds?

Thanks, you Norwegian Bastard!

:D:D:D

There's some things I would change, this is 180bpm and I can't think that fast while playing. :p

Nice. I really like the guitar tones you got. The snare sounds a little out of place to me but everything else sounds really nice. Good stuff!:)

Well, I'll just stand behind what Daisy said!!!:D

Thanks for the offer to pull out some drum sounds EL.:)

Here comes the brutally honest response, so be prepared....

When I read the description, I was very primed to listen. And while you captured some extremely nice guitar tones, you failed to really marry the ZZ Top tune with the Satriani tune and create a cohesive structure. But I do applaud your effort.

I was able to pull out wav samples of the open hihat and ride cymbals.

Here's the hihat, it has a long tail.

Here's the ride

Thank all, appreciate the listens.

Mad, Sorry, didn't mean to disappoint you. I didn't really have a big plan to marry the two tunes. The ZZ sprinkles reference was the intro, the middle break at 2:20 and the part right after that. Those patys were borrowed from LaGrange. That's the end of the ZZ sprinkles.

I'm not a Satch connoiseur but the LaGrange parts were familiar sounding. :)Nice use of the whammy bar throughout, and the guitar stayed in tune which is a testament to it's quality/setup. You continue to amaze with your chops, sir....

I thought I'd get to hear a Hot Club, (whatever the name of Armstrong's 1st classic line up was), version of a ZZTop tune.
The drums are good though the hhat is too far forward for my ears.
The bass could use a little defiinition.
The guitar playing was HOT with a good siZZle.
Not a G8 membership type fan but this was a fun boogie.
.

I have some ZZ stuff that I did if you want to hear more straight up Billy Gibbons type licks.

This tune was way more on the Satch side than ZZ side.

Thanks for the listens gang.
