Hi everyone
I have been browsing this forum for several months now, so this post serves to both introduce myself, and pose a question!
I am currently in the process of building a home studio, with AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 1Gb Mem, etc, with a MOTU 828mkII interface. All coming along quite nicely now, and I have now got two 17" LCD screens for the system. I am very nervous about which video card to get though - I obviously need one with the capability to do "Extended Desktop" in XP Pro, not just clone.
Please forgive my care on this subject, but a friend of mine in video editing has had trouble with a dual output video card. For the record, I have done PLENTY of searching through the forums about this subject, and wanted to ask if anyone has any experience or opinion of the Sapphire Atlantis 128Mb video card. It has both VGA and DVI outputs, and comes with a DVI to VGA adapter, and the PDF manual says it can do "Dual Monitor" as an option - but in my experience this does not necessarily mean "Extended Desktop". Will this card work?
Sapphire seems to have a good setup, however I have mailed them and they have not replied! Drivers etc are readily available, much better than some other cards I have looked at, so I hope this is the card for me!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
God bless
