Samson COU3 Condenser Microphone

When I first plugged in this microphone it worked perfectly with my audio program (Cool Edit Pro) but after a while it started to get a lot of feedback like a television lost signal. I have tried it on a Mac with GarageBand and it receives the same problem. Is there any way to fix this? or should I just return the microphone?

USB mics are pieces of shit.

I'm not even sure why they ever came up with the idea. The mic cable and the signal running through it is more important than you think. But if you're just doing this as a hobby, than knock yourself out, I doubt there is much difference.

I didn't want to come right out and say this so I cut/coped/pasted this from another forum ..... doesn't matter which one ...... I found the same quote at several different forums.
