has anyone here used this mic....if so...how is the quality..and what pre-amp should i buy for it?

seen these in the mf catalog, haven't found opinions on them, but with the others around for almost the same price, i went w/ mxl's oktaßa even tried a Nady.

really good pre for cheap is the dmp3

I own 2 of them...used as overhead, vocal mic, on acoustic guitar, guitar amp...it's not bad for the price but now after a year I'm looking for something better, c414 tlm 103...I'm using with a mindprint DI port. I think you can find better mics

I had one and I outgrew it quickly. I got duped by a review that was way to kind. It had a weird honky quality, if you ask me. Since traded it in for a 4040 then a NTK. Large leaps ahead. I'd think for the money there's probably more value in a 57. Your results may vary...

This was my first mic - still one of my three. Its freq response is pretty awful for vocals in my opinion, and it's pretty noisy.

I think it's not too great but ...
on some vocalists it tends to add "warmth" to a thin sounding voice, rather than for example a studio projects B <- which, for general purposes, is much better in the same price range

I bought two of these about two years ago maybe a little more when I was trying to start out my rig. I still use them, they aren't all that great but I would say they are good for the price. You can get them pretty darn cheap on ebay. Most stuff I record I'm not exactly looking for a super audiophile sound.

a street punk tune

all vocals, left guitar, and bass all done with c01's. All into an old yamaha mixer, then a delta 1010lt converters.

Song was recorded live (except vox) bass and drums in same room.
