Is anyone familiar with this particular microphone? I found, at another forum, a poster who thought very highly of this mic - which sells for $69. It isn't that I doubt his opinion, but rather that I desire to hear from others who have also worked with this mic. I just don't have much more than that, to spend on a mic, right now, but need something REAL QUICK.

Blessings,

Nate

I guess that my choice has been narrowed down to either the Samson C01 ($69), or the Studio Projects B1 ($79). It's been said that both Mics are good choices, so I guess that it more than likely boils down to eeeny-meeney-miney- mo :p .

Blessings,

Nate

I tried the Marshall V67G, V69, AT 3050 and the Samson C01 today. Put them through several tests and the Samson won hands down on my voice. It did not break down on transients like the Marshalls and was just richer in quality over the 3050. I also A/Bd the mic against my C1 and it just has a great overall quality that makes it stand out on vocals over the C1.

I liked the V67Gs sound too, as long as you don't eat it, it has a different and very pleasant sound. Not bright, kinda blues club moody if you will. I can see picking one of these up later.

I was using a digidesign digital console which has focusrite pres which are very slightly warm but clear.

If you want a great lo end, baritone male vocal mic for around $69, the Samson C01 should be on your list. Did not test it on females or tenors so couldn't say. I bought one.
