Sampling rate and bit depth question

Ok, so i'm recording a dvd video of yanni to cd for my friend. it has a s/pdif out and i hooked it up with my delta 1010 and it's all working and sounds good. The front of the DVD player says that the D/A converter is 24/96. So does that mean that the s/pdif out is that too. just curious. thanks.....Josh
