Hi,
I was wondering how to take drums/vocals/bass from mp3s to make mash ups with. Once the component parts are seperated from the mix can the tempo be raised or lowered without changing the pitch and vice versa? Im sure I dont need tiestos rig to do simple shit like this do i?
Thanks

You can't really change the tempo of something (like vocals) without the pitch changing.

But about the sampling, you take whatever you want from a song and chop it up, and combine how you like it. If you're talking about just straight up removing the vocals from a song, you can't really do that, unless there is an acapella part/version of it

How does the guy who made the youtube video do it then?

On Traktor 3 (or possibly Traktor 2), you can change the pitch by itself OR the tempo by itself. I've done it before so I know it can be done.

You may wanna try to download Traktor 2.

I can on my MPC-2500!

They have plenty of other programs that allows you to do the same as well!

Technology grasshopper has caught up with us........

Yeah but doesn't it always sound all weird?

Yes you can change tempo with out changing pitch and it wont sound weird as long as you don't change the tempo too drastically. Many of the DAW's out there do it.
