Samples

Does anyone know of free websites with samples..Piano, strings, maybe some tech sounds? So far I know I can use Wav and Akai format.
I can only find loops and brumbeat samples. I want some instruments to play.

It would help if you have dsl or cable for the better soundfonts as they are quite large
