Since ive been experimenting/learning in the digital domain with my new set up im now onto drum tracks.

Now, what would be the best way to achieve realistic dry studio kits for indie/rock/acoustic music

Sample cd's/software etc etc ?

i have been on the same topic for a while, trying to make the best decision. Since i already own Reason, i decided to get the drunkit refill for it, they sound pretty amazng.

do you have a sequencer with vst or dxi capabilities? if so, i would recommend BFD by fxpansion, it is a plug in that basically lets you set up a sampled drumkit. A strong rival is Drunkit from hell. I found drunkit from hell to sound more processed, but my experience with both of them is very limited.

another route is just to use sampled drum loops. it is quicker but you have less control over the creativitiy of your drums i find.

Google "NSKit"

You can use it with a soundfont player or any sampler.
