I have an old song that I recorded on Cakewalk P9 that I wanted to remix.

Im now running Sonar3 and have a sample rate problem with this project.

Ive trid everything I know, except for probably the obvious, to fix the situation.

The song was recorded at 16bit/96khz.

How can I change this to 16/44.1?

When I mix the project down it automatically mixes to 16/96 as thats how it was recorded.

Do I have to do this after the mixdown or in Sonar...? If so how?

All info appreciated.

I've never used Sonar but, I would have to think that you should be able to do sample rate conversions during the mix-down.
Any rate, just about any audio editor would be able to do this.
Voxengo's r8brain makes for a fine stand-alone converter.

Easy way is to burn it to CD and rip the track or tracks back in.

Red book CD standard is 44,100
