Someone is selling a The Samick LP for 565Euros. He is keen on repeating that it's THE Samick, not a Samick..???

I couldn't find nuttin' on Google, anyone here know what's the deal??

That can't be, cause I own THE Samick.... :D

Maybe he is trying to say that his Samick kicks the rest of our Samick's butt..so he refers to it as THE Samick....?

He has apparently gone through the trouble of adding "THE"-inlay in front of Samick in the headstock..

Have you?? :D

I checked with a friend who owns a music store, and is our local "authorised Samick dealer," according to him... "The Samick is just another Samick." Other companies make lines of "The____" products, for example Gibson makes The Paul, Fender makes The Twin (amp). Adding "the" to a name does not nessassarily make the product any better, typicaly it means it was made to the original specifications of the designer.

I know this thread has been gone for a long time, but since it ranks high on search when looking for "The Samick", I thought I would add a bit of information for any who find it the same way I did.

Before Gibson moved their Epiphone manufacturing to China, Samick was under contract to build Les Paul guitars. They were the only company licensed to do so and the only ones allowed to make exact replicas legally. "The Samick" Les Paul copy is the most faithful reproduction of the LP from its era because they had the blueprints. It's not "just a Samick" in any way when you look at it from this perspective. Once Gibson went to China, they ordered Samick to change their design and no longer make those perfect replicas. In this case, "The" Samick is a special guitar.

My mandolin is a Samick. Whether it's the Samick will be revealed at the end of time.......
