This is another tune I did in the same session. And sadly enough, the same crappy-sounding click track.
Why am I posting yet another tune so soon? I'm curious to know what people think of the contrasting sounds I got using different gear on the two tunes I have posted . . . the other being from my previous thread.
The major differences are as follows: This particular track, "What do you think," was recorded in about an hour and a half as opposed to an hour. I got a chance to process/mix it a little more (maybe another hour's worth of mixing). But the biggest differences were in the mic selection, as well as the compression.
This particular track has Joemeek all over it. I drove the Meek 6Q almost to the breaking point and basically compressed the shit out of both the vocal and guitar tracks on this one (with the meek), whereas the previous tune I posted was all run throught the Mackie and compressed more transparently with software comp.
Also, the vocal on this track uses an SM7 as opposed to the condenser I used on the other one. You can hear how much warmer and less hyped this vocal track is . . . and you can probably hear how much punchier, more compact, and aggressive-sounding the guitar and vocal tracks are with the Joemeek.
Please forgive me again for the god-awful drum click track
I will post a new one with real drums soon.

I am curious, though, to know if anyone can tell what the Joemeek imparts to this sound as opposed to the cleaner sound of the last track I posted earlier. As I know I have gotten a lot of PM's from some of the newbs wanting to know what "the Joemeek sound" is. Well, here you go.
To me, it just brings a whole different dimension and level of aggressiveness - dare I say a "radio-ready?" punchy sound?
Thanks!
