Ok, its a rough mix of a Sabbath cover. Im having neck problems again and they are doing injections tomorrow. So I spent this evening (from 6pm to 1am) whipping this out. Needs more work. Im not happy with the guitars. I need to tweek my amp or amps or gt8 to get that sound on the original tune. Its a combo of Bass guitar and guitar that is unbelievable on the original. But I wanted to do some recording before Im laid up for a few days. Plus I cant sleep, so Im pulling an all nighter. The tune is "Lord of this World" off of "Masters of Reality". Still needs some compression applied to several tracks, because of my inconsistant playing. :) What to do for the next several hours. Dr. appointment is 8:00 am.

Vocals need fixed too. Time to heat up chineese food from earlier.

I am sort of happy with my Bass guitar playing. Getting better.

vocals are flat?? u need to aim slightly higher ..need to bring in a slight seering wail.

...i would be inclined to try and illuminate that middy distortion thats frying on top of the guitars.....thats what really get the sabb sound going....wasnt it the gibson humbucker harmonics through marshall??

but i like the dry feel...very sabbath:)

Yea the SG makes it. Im using a Carvin, striving to copy that tone. Might be impossible. But it needs more mids and low end on the guitar. Im getting ready to leave for the doc

Nice job man...I think it's sounding pretty good. I'd like to hear more aggression in the vocals...to fit the music better. You have some good sounds in there...nice job man...:D

Thanks Dogman. I just cant seem to get my voice high enough at times. And when I do sing more agressive, Im all over the place. I did work on "Adams Apple" with your track on it. I have a few more plugins to try before posting it again.

If yuo want, I'd gladly take a stab at Lord...:D

Might blow it up, but it's a cool tune...

I had the final wave on my personal pc, so I tweaked the eq a little to raise the overal mids and lows. Lowered the highs also. Sounds better on my headphones and pc speakers. Temporary fix.

The guitar tone, while maybe not as heavy as Iommi's, is still pretty nice.
Bass sounds equally good...I like the way it pokes out big and bold every few notes like in the solo. Hope your doctor's appt went well, take it easy for a couple of days.... :D

Went ok at the docs'. Hurt a little. I have not gotten any relief, so it must be a permanent condition like they other surgeons concluded. This was a last ditch effort to help with the chronic pain. Im on nerve blockers and pain meds and its not helping very well. Something I have to learn to live with. Anyway, thanks for the listen. I changed the eq a little and the high end needs raised a little. I hate the mp3 conversion process. You always loose something.

Not bad man. I'm not the biggest Sabbath fan, so I don't know this one, but it sounds like a Sabbath song for sure. Good job there. I like the guitar sound, but it's a little too modern sounding. The rest is pretty good.

Buy me an SG so I can get that tone , GregL ole buddy ole pal :) Thanks for the comment. Im gonna try and dial that tone in. I might get out my Jackson Kelly and see if it can get closer.

I think maybe you could cut the gain and get closer. Those amps back then didn't have ridiculous amounts of smooth distortion. They got raunchy. Maybe dial back the gain and double-track. That usually seems to work for me when I need a more "classic" sound.

Yea , I just need to play with it. I was hoping youd buy me an SG. Actually my cousin had a SG (Gibson not Epi) and he paid over a grand for it and it was cheap lookin. Not made very well.

what are the pickups you are using ?? in the carvin and in the jackson.... humbuckers ?? excuse my ignorance.:)

SG's rule. Most awesomest guitar ever created. My lead guitarist has 2 of them. They're like guitars from heaven. SG + Marshall = tonal ejaculation :D

The Carvin are the stock ones used in the year 1990. They are humbuckers. The Jackson is also, but its pickups are a but hotter. I'd love some PAF's for the Carvin, but just havent taken the plunge and changed them. Best guitar Ive ever played. If you have never played one I recommend it.
