Is anyone else experiencing severe hissing on an audio channel using 24 bit audio driver depth with the Audiophile 24/96 from M-Audio? The engine needs to be engaged and a track armed to hear this.

This does not occur in Sonar 2.2 just in 3.0. I am using the 5.10.00.0029 driver. Does not happen at 16 bits only 24. Audio driver bit depth not file bit depth by the way.

Any response would be appreciated.

I'm OK over here Middleman - I believe I have the 29 driver. If there's anything special you want me to check out let me know and I'll try it out tomorrow. The projects I'm working in are 24bit wave files.

I am doing something different though - the track I arm is on the Audigy2 for a spdif in. So I use the audiophile to send some analog out and then record the digital coming back in on the audigy2. So I guess I'm not doing what you're doing at all ! If I can I'll check it out tomorrow if no one else comes in !

I have a touch of the flu tonight - argh !@#! Got your flu shots everyone ?

Thanks kylen, It went away but caused me about 3 hours of panic. I thought the card was going out on me.

I had been messing around with some settings and added a new video card. After I took the Nvidia out and put in my old card it went away. Very strange.

I did lose some latency in the process however, I was able to run at 64 samples in the driver but after all this I am on 256 and 5.8ms in Sonar. I was at 1.2 and feeling very proud but for some reason can't get back there without stalling out the engine.

Just glad to be back up and running. Seems that the new engine is turning a lot more cpu cycles than the previous version. I hope they work on that issue.

I guess that's why the minimum specs are raised from 400 MHz to 800 MHz... ;)

did you install the latest nvidia driver? when i had my 66 i would notice abnormalities with audio until i installed the lastest set of drivers

Teacher, yeah I had the latest. I think the video card is bad and possibly putting some noise on the buss. It came out of my sons computer as he had upgraded and I was thinking more video ram would help the screen refresh in Sonar 3.

No harm done, I went back to the ATI and things are working fine.
