hey im new here and need to get some info. im making some changes to my home studio and need some help. i have been using a m-audio delta 410 s/c, a behringer 1222FXpro analog mixer, m-audio studiopro monitors, along with my guitar fx boxes. i make my backings in FL studio, and i pretty much record just guitar and vocals.
i just bought a new Boss GT-8 guitar processor and it has a S/PDIF digital output. my sound card has this also. i guess my question is, is S/PDIF better for recording than a regular line-in? should i be using that now instead?
only problem is my mixer doesnt have any of that so i would not be able to use the effects in it...unless i figured out some way to use the effects loop with my processor.
would appreciate any help.thanks
