Running yamaha mixer into Joe Meek VC3Q for Drums

Newbie here. Recording drum with just the Joe Meek seems tedious. My medium is Boss 8 Track digital recorder.
For budget purposes I've come up with an idea of getting an inexpensive yamaha 4 channel mixer so I can run my drum mics into its multiple channels(as opposed to the single channel of the Joe MeeK)and then running the entire mixer signal into my DAK 1 Noise Reducer Rack(its not a gate or a limiter BTW much smoother) to tame the noise floor of the inexpensive yamaha preamps, then run from the Noise Reducer rack into the VC3Q for its amazing pre-amp, compressor for taming the drum spikes, and 3 band EQ that it has for a little polishing. Honestly would this work guys?? Even if you're prejudice towards this technique or don't like the gear I need hardcore tell it like it is truth.

to me it sounds like u plan to run it thrugh two preamps (unless ur bypassing the one in the vc3q) which is regarded very bad, it will cause the hiss to be even worse. Why dont u record the drums into the boss, then bounce them back seperately through your noise reducer?

Yes I was proposing to run it through two preamps. Hmmm. I can see how it could make noise. Well then now I need one of three things. Either a good small mixer (Mackie 1204VLZ?)a quality Compressor EQ, or a 2 channel preamp in the quality of Joe Meek and focusrite anybody know of anything good used for 500 or under?
