I track via Cakewalk Pro 9, and I have a dual monitor set-up and I was wondering if there was any way I can view cakewalk on both monitors?

Like view the track view on one monitor and the console view on the other?

I'm doing this with Sonar. I imagine it can be done with PA9.

Are you running Win XP?

I have the ATI Radeon 9700 TX and all I have to do is extend my desktop to the second monitor. Once thats done I can just drag it to the extended desk. GL, HF.

I know some programs like photoshop can have all the tools and bars on seperat windows so you can put them anywhere on you screen without having to strech your application window. Check your help files or the documentation concerning dual monitors for your program.

Yes, Im running XP.

I couldnt find anything in the Cakewalk help files and documentation.

I can normally drag windows and programs (or pieces of programs) to my other screen, but with cakewalk, its like all the window views are locked inside the bigger cakewalk window.

I can drag Cakewalk itself from monitor to monitor, just not the windows within.

I was curious if there was a setting for this or what...

OK, I found out how to make the windows float in Sonar 3 (I have the Demo).

Apparently its not possible in P9...

If anyone knows of a way let me know...

If not, does anyone know if the older versions of Sonar support this feature?

If I remember correctly, this was possible with Sonar 1.

One way to solve it with PA9 is to not maximize the Main Window, but to stretch it across the two screens. That work for every program I know.
