Anybody use this to burn CD's? I'm having a problem with it. I can't burn at less than 8x with roxio. I went to the properties on my drive and set it up for 1x, but roxio still only goes down to 8x.
I want to get slower because I have a couple real old CD players that have trouble reading the discs I burn and I want to try a lower speed. Sound reasonable?

I suspect it is not a limitation of Roxio, but one of your burner. Most new burners don't burn slower than 8X.

Really? I bought a Plextor burner two weeks ago, and I can burn in single speed if I want to...

Most, not all. Plextor / TDK / Yamaha and any other high end burners would be the exceptions.

mbuster I suggest you take a look at the specifications for your burner at the manufacters website to eliminate that variable.

On a semi related note, does anybody know of some jewel case insert making software?

Roxio Easy CD Platinum has some premade inserts that you can do printing on.

Fellowes has a CD stomper where you can make jewel case inserts, j-card inserts, CD labels, you name it.
