Routing Yamaha MG16/4 to soundcard

Well i recently purchased a Yamaha MG16/4 and have it setup so the inserts are used as direct outs to my Delta 1010LT, I also have the outputs 1&2 set going into the stereo channels 9/10 but the only way I can hear it is if the Pre Fader Listen button is pressed and the faders on the channels arent controlling the volume of the sound, why is this? Also, is it possible to send individual tracks to inserts on the board?

I believe the inserts on the mg series are post faders no matter what configuration you're in. I also believe the EQ is active, just not the fader. your individual channel trim/gain is your only volume control on the insert channels going directly out.

Remember, (I'm not sure how many individual outs you need) but theres the Aux sends you can use as individual outs, as well as the inserts, and panning to the 1-2 sub group will give you 2 more indi. outs.

maybe list everything you'r trying to send out of the board and what exactly you're trying to do, so we can have more info.

Well I have 6 channels going out to my soundcard through the inserts and I have my outs 1&2 on my soundcard going into stereo channel 9/10 so I can monitor. I just want to make the most of my board and right now I don't feel I am utilizing its capabilities. I want to know if its possible to send an individual track out from the sound card and into the mixer.

you should be able to do that in software.....send outs 3 and 4 to channel 11/12....then in software, send that specific track(s) to outs 3 and 4......
