Hey Muse......
Very nice song..... I like the melody. I like the acoustic guit. sound too. That twangy tone goes well with the songs style, imho. I agree that the drums sound like more of a metering/timekeeping device than an actual perc. part. It might sound nice to just lose the drums alltogether, or bring up a solid groove, ...and for that you need a real bass.:D Cool song.... :)

by dynamics, I meant with the playing, nothing to do with recording techniques. More highs and lows to the music, musically. I'm not sure if take 2 really is more "dynamically" played(from beginning to end), but it is more laid back, and has a more open feeling to it that I like better than the earlier version. However, on the chorus's, I'd come up musically, ...like the solo starts to do at 1:25 (however, unfortunately it backs off in volume rather immediately). BUT, in addition to the playing I'd "dynamically" raise the bar with other things like harmonies, an added instrument, something to differentiate it from the verses. I think that was kinda along the lines of what Gidge might be thinking also.

anywaz....(enough jumping your sh!*....!!) ..be good, ole man.
thanks for the pm too.

yep, thats about what i was thinking.....the original has some power to it, but take2 is alot thinner....a mixture of the two would give it dynamics, somewhat of a building-up.....

also, as long as that lead guitar plays around the vocal, you can pan it dead center and give it full attention it deserves......

Mix,
Thanks again for the help!
I'm going to do a final version and try some harmonies and your other suggestions.

Guernica,
Thanks very much.
The melody is all Gidge's fault,(really great aint it!)
I think I'm going to go with the shakers, conga feel.

Gidge,
Thanks dude!
I'll definatly do it like you said, your the man!
I changed the strings on my gits, and am going to try to get it done by this weekend.
My daughter just graduated high school last nite,(Good Girl!),so time's been tight.

I'll let you know when I have it done so you can see if it passes muster before I post it!:D

I did about 20 differant takes of it,and have been posting it here for about 2 months,so I better get it right!

Thanks again,
Pete
