I don't do a lot of recording, so when a buddy of mine sent me some tracks to mix, and all the acoustic instruments were recorded in stereo, I thought to myself I ought to be doing that too, as opposed to mono recording.
I recorded my guitar, mandolin, banjo in stereo using a SM81 and Equation F.20, and used the Equation for my vocal, and an electric bass.
Just some gentle compression on the instruments and vocal for the mix, and I sent two stereo buses, one for short delay and one for reverb. On the master track I used some soft opto compression. Oh ya, a little eq on the vocal. I think that's it.
This song is written by Bill Staines, and I've never sung it til tonight! It worked well in G so I did it. Hope you enjoy it. Any suggestions as far as the mixing goes is well appreciated!
