Hello,

Im looking to buy 2 mics.

1 : To use purely for vocals - What do you reccommend on a pro scale?

2 : A Room Mic for use during drums/guitar/vocal recording - also on a vocal scale?

is a room mic a good idea becuase of background noise etc as there quite specific...?

I use one for drums always. Sometimes for vox, but only for the effect. Yes, you will pick up BG noise, depending on where you record, but I have never used my drum room mic so high in the mix that I could hear any. Then again, there really isn't a large amount of extranious noise while recording...

I would not record vox in a place where there is alot of noise, although Zep did do some vox outside during some recording. Ever noticed the sound of a plane in one song?

so which mics would you reccommend one purly for vox and one for room mic on all sorts of instruments?

From the ones I previously suggested, I would have to go with the Shure KSM-44. It is more versatile.

2 of those should do the right trick? can you help in my other topics at all in the rack forum?

Well, if you can afford 2, than sure! I thought you were asking about ONE all around mic for vox or room recording for drums.

so even if i used one for vocals and used it for drums as room mic? go on help me in the rack threads:)

Yup, I mean, there are alot of mics in many price ranges that could be used as either a vocal mic or a room mic. The ones I mentioned are a bit pricey but excellent mics. The Shure can usually be found for around $500. The AT4060 can be twice as much. I own both, and LOVE the KSM44 for its sound and versatility. I can use it for just about anything, and it really shines on vocals.

cooll.... do you have a answer to :
