I built the standard absorbers that you see all the people here talking about, a box with the rockwool in and burlap covering the face and boxes with peg board on the face to act as a quick and dirty helmholtz resonator to absorb some low mids that were in the room. They were used to do a quick treatment of a room that I use to mix. I have 4 broadband and 4 helmholtz resonators. I made those determinations based on a program that I wrote that is similar to one you can get at

I plan on startin construction in my basement is about 2 months where I will use a large quantity of the stuff.
What you really need to do is to buy this book, it lays out in detail how to build all sorts of different sound contro devices and Amazon .com sells it for only $28
