OK, I'm about to make the plunge and purchase a Boston 7'-2" semi-concert Grand Piano for my studio!
Here's a picture of it:

The only thing I'm wondering about is how it will sound in my studio. The room it will go in is about 15'X17'with 9' ceilings and I'm wondering if the piano will simply blow the room away? Too much piano for too small a room? I have some acoustic treatment in the room and will probably need to add some more, I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience in this area?

The other thing I was wondering about is the weight of the piano and if the floor of the room will support it. The piano weighs about 750 pounds. I have spoken to an architect about this and he said that given that the floor is made from trusses and not joists it should be no problem. I'd sure like to know now rather than find out later if it will work!

Michael - we have just purchased a Boston 7"2" piano and it sounds fantastic in our piano room (aprox 18' x 10'.

For the wheels we purchased a steel wheel frame that the piano is mounted on that has nylon (or sumthin) wheels that allows it to move over our timber floor without marking it.

BTW - our piano tuner has spent 2 full days working on the action (At the retailers expense) and tuning it. FUCK it sounds good, beautiful piano - you'll love it.
