I walk the line
Sorry, I didn't know how to title this thread. I'm thinking about renting an extra office we have at work for awhile, to set up a temporary studio of sorts. It won't be very good, but I gotta work with what I've got access to. Anyway, the room is 12.5' x 14' with a 9ft suspended ceiling. What should be my primary considerations as far as a monitoring environment? I can't do anything even semi-permanent, don't have much to spend, and certainly can't afford to have somebody come out and shoot the room. I also don't have the time to put into doing something like building real bass traps, so it's got to be something relatively quick and dirty. I know, I don't want much do I? I don't expect to get good results, I just want to get the best results I can given what I've got.

Any serious suggestions greatly appreciated.

Some drywall squares on top of the drop ceiling will help with isolation as long as it's sturdy enough.

If you don't want to build anything, get some acoustical cotton and just tack it to the walls in the corners and at reflection points. Easy to do, little effort, etc.
