I have an opportunity to record my kit in my loft for a couple of weeks.

any tips on kit placement, the loft would be 20feet in height with an angled ceiling from what would be the first floor to the second floor. Its also not a closed room (its open to the kitchen, dining room and loft second level)

would you place your kit with the angle or would you place it facing the angle etc...

i'll be using a mic on the kick and one overhead at the snare.

i hope this makes sense, i'll try and up load a drawing of the room.

Everything depends on the room.

For starters, don't put the kit in the middle.

OOO nice place.... Please tell me that you used more than 2 mics while recording those drums.

I like to to use at least one on each shell and 2 overheads, make sure that each mic is panned properly in the mix.

I'm in Toronto, woo, where are you located?
