Sam Ash has the vsr880 hard disc recorder advertised for $499.

I was wondering if anyone has used it,and is it worth it?

They don't show the hard disc size or sample rate either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Pete

Treeline,
Thanks for all the info,I will definatly check out those sites

BBB,ya I think I'll just have to.

Yeah,I saw that on their site as well.I got my VSR880 back in January for $599 and everyone was like," where did you find that price? " (GC blowout.) Anyway, the thing is good,it has 24 bit converters like the 890 (880EX has 20 bit.) It also has more individual in/outputs and a 24 bit recording mode in which you lose channel EQ.One less than wonderful feature is the tiny knob that takes the place of the jog wheel on the tabletop machines. The lack of faders isn't too bad if you already have a VS machine 'cause you can link 'em via MIDI and use the other machine's faders for both. All in all.I'd say it's a good buy.
