Okay fellas, I'm a newbie here, but I'm having a serious problem...

For some reason, the VS1880 isn't recognizing the VSCDRII, even when I do everything exactly as Roland says - the jumpers are all set properly, I'm turning it on first, etc. I think it might be the cable...what kind of cable are you all using to hook this bugger up? The guy I got the VSCDRII from (I didn't buy it from a store) gave me a cable that looks like one of those parallel port to parallel port cables you use with DCC on a PC, not a SCSI cable. It's even made by Belkin, which makes me wonder if I've got the wrong cable.

If I have the wrong cable, what do I do? Roland doesn't have any listed on their site, and I really wouldn't have the foggiest where to look.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I had that problem too. Did your 1880 come with some 3-1/2" floppy discs that say something like "expanded software"?
If so, you have to load that software onto the 1880.
That might be it...I'm not for sure though.
Hope it helps ya out!
