I'm kinda new at this, but i was wondering why most of mixes sound muddy. I'm sure this is a common question of which there is no one answer ,but some listening tips would help. Like what should I be listening for when I record tracks, the timber, the natural sound, or what?

You should probably check out the mixing/mastering forum here. Your issues isn't VS-specific, necessarily. A lot depends on what unit you have, the sampling rate, and what recording mode you use.

Still, you can overcome most of this with basic "good practice" mixing information. You'll find more information over there on that board that you'll probably need!
