Roland VS-840gx stuff...

Well, I didn't see any threads here about this machine, so here goes.

I traded my little red toy (the Fostex MR-8) at my local music instrument dealer
for this nice piece of used equipment (the Roland VS-840gx) with its built-in
250mb zip drive.
I haven't looked at the Properties (disc space capacity) of the internal hard-drive;
nor have I started to fire this baby up for my first project with it...
...time is an issue with me, as I'm working two part-time jobs throughout
the week.

I have a couple ideas I wanna try:

1>> upgrading the hard-drive to a larger capacity
so I can have more room to work in.

2>> upgrading the zip drive to 750mb so that I can
match that same CD size capacity... I wanna be able
to backup/master everything onto a CD without
having to do it with multiple zip disks.

Comments, suggestions, complaints, modification ideas,
customizing ideas, artwork of and Onto this machine
are welcome.
If you've transferred the mechanical/electronic guts of this
machine into some other chassis (case, enclosure, etc)
or if you've managed to copy the VS-840gx's operating
system to your computer and somehow managed to actually
run it in your pc or laptop, show some tips tricks and pics here.

thanks! :D

The vs840 does not have an internal hard drive....it records directly to the zip drive.

You can replace the zip drive with a card reader and get storage up to 1 gig.

Go to the vs840 section of the vsplanet forums for more info.
