I have a chance to get a VS-2400CD for $400 with the keyboard, monitor, mouse, burner and I am waiting to see if it comes with the effects cards. I have heard good things about this unit but have always focussed on recording on my PC. I am more a rock/live recorder using samples in Acid kind of like a heavy rock Sigur Ros, live synths and real drums but wanted to step up a notch. I currently use a Line 6 UX2 and an M-Audio 4x10 Firewire to get my sounds in and I mix on screen. What I am wondering is if the $400 would buy be a piece of gear to make my life more interesting in the PC world or should I grab the 2400. For PC what would I sacrifice and vice versa - any advice is taken to heart - thanks!
