So this is the first time I've ever had a v-kit before, and I'm wanting to do some recording through midi.

The band I'm in exclusively uses fruity loops for sequencing, and I picked up ezdrummer and the Drumkit from hell because I think it really does sound awesome etc.

So, that's the software I _have_ to use. No other options.

Hooked the midi to usb converter up, drivers are fine etc, and EZDrummer is receiving the input from the kit (sounds happen when pads are struck etc)...

However, how the blazes do I actually record on this?

I know EZDrummer has grooves, and you can import midi files for your own etc, but how do I go about recording, with my drumkit, onto ez drummer a groove so that I can drag the groove onto the piano roll in Fruity Loops?

Is there another bit of software I'm missing that actually has to record the midi coming in so that I can pull the midi into ezdrummer??

Any help on this would be very appreciated!!!! I've also searched the internet for days trying to find a solution to this, so if this has been posted before in here with all the software required for THIS PARTICULAR SETUP, then just point me in the right direction because I really haven't found it.

Thanks!

You would have to insert Ezdrummer as a VST instrument to whatever track and arm it to record.

Don't forget when you add it as an instrument to say yes to having each piece come in on it's own track. you'll have 8 tracks to assign whatever too.

You will notice that once you hit record nothing will show up in the kick snare hats etc, tracks. They are there simply to mix with. All your midi info will goto the one track named Ezdrummer instrument or whatever it decides to name it as.

IF you want me to elaborate on any of this, pm me. chances are this thread had no responses on it 3 weeks, i went looking for an old one of mine found this.

Hope ya got it figured out.
