Hello, I am buying some new gear, I am getting a pentium 4 computer with dual monitors and Windows XP. I am also looking for a good soundcard and mixer/pre amp.

A friend of mine suggested this new product, the Roland Studio Package Pro, it is a soundcard / mixer / preamp etc.

If you guys havent seen it, check it out at www.rolandus.com just do a product search for "studio package pro"

I'm really tied up on if I should up this item or not. If any of you can give me some input I would really appreciate, you can e-mail me at goddammitiloveamerica@hotmail.com if you wish.

Thanks alot, Jake

I have their regular studio pack but I don't think it really compares to the pro. I haven't heard anything about the pro because it is very new. The package looks pretty cool though.

It's biggest drawback is using Logic software. Logic is not going to be supported on the PC for too much longer so it might be best to learn a different software that you can stick with for a few years. I'm not sure how useable the roland hardware is without Logic but that is something you should check out.

How much is it going for?

"With the Studio Package Pro, users can record on a computer and mix using a real control surface with templates for Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools and more."

Straight from the horse's (er, Roland) mouth.

Just get Cubase, and fuhgetaboutit.
