Never Sarcastic....Honest
Hey all,
I have a DR770 drum machine and am thinking about buying a set of all-in-one pads to trigger the 770 via MIDI. V-drums are out of the question due to the expense and I don't want to build my own triggers.
I've been looking on ebay and there's a bunch of different types available, but I don't know very much about any
of these drum machine pads. I am not concerned with the internal sounds that would come with the unit, as I
really want to use it to trigger the DR770 only.
Can anyone give me some recommendations and/or pluses and minuses about any of the options:
Roland SPDxx/Octapad which I am kinda leaning towards...
vs.
Yahama DD series and I don't want the older series with only 4 pads. I guess the DD50 as that has 7 pads.
vs.
Kat Pads (not sure of the real name but it looks pretty cramped to bang on)
I would also need a kick pedal for the bass drum and another for the high hat (or I could assign the open hi hat to one of the pads as an alternative I guess.) Any advice on pedal options would be helpful as well.
Any advice would be appreciated on pros/cons about each unit and what pedals work the best and any pricing info if available.
Thanks,
Wish
