Roland Sound Canvas

Hi,
I'm getting ready to spend about $4000 the purchase of a brand new computer and a Roland Sound Canvas SC-8850 with a UA-100 USB to run everything through( mike, MIDI controller, etc...). First, what is your opinion of the Sound Canvas and what kind of hardware do you recommend I get in my computer to support all of this? I also want to get a CD burner, Cakewalk Pro-Audio software, Bose Accustamass speakers, and I also need a recommendation on a good mike for mainly vocals and a good set of headphones. I know this is asking alot but I need some advice on this and you are the only one I have found to help. Thank you so much for your time. Hermes99

thanks for the info. But i'm new to this digital music, i'm an old piano man. Is the Sound Canvas a good piece of equipment and does it work and sound good?

the latest example is from a computer generated wind chimes MIDI signal fed to the sound canvas. It covers several of the stock sounds on the canvas. The 8850 adds a lot more samples.
