My father-in-law recently suffered a stroke, and (as he knows that I love to fool around with keyboards) asked me to hold on to his RS-5 synth, until such time as he has bettered enough to resume playing. I have been trying to use it to play the sounds from my Yamaha QY700 MIDI sequencer, but can't get it to do anything . I am also told that there had to be a "LOCAL OFF" function in the unit (some synths don't have this feature; I have been given to understand) in order for me to be successful in that. But, try as I might, I can not find it anywhere. If there are any RS-5 owners reading this, please help me out.
I know that the manual would've, undoubtedly, covered this issue, but he lost it shortly after buying the 'board this past summer.
