anyone have any experiance with these? would they be good enough for a decent mix? and could they get loud enough?

I have a pair of the MA-8B. They seem more like computer multimedia speakers to me. Excellent for monitoring keyboards, but I don't know about mixing. They do get surprisingly loud though, I usually can't turn mine past 10 o'clock without pissing off the neighbors in the next room. I'm hoping to save up for some entry-level monitors by Event, Tannoy or M-Audio.

These are my internet computer speakers nowadays. I mix on Alesis M1s and the combination of the two usually gives a decent mix, although a car stereo is a good reference.

I wouldn't trust these for mixing but tracking is a different story.
When I was tracking a local punk band I used these with my headphones for mic placement. True, it could've been better but the combo of two sources was enough to get a good mix later on my big JBL studio monitors.

If you find yourself in a bind with crappy monitors just mix a bunch of versions and take a CD around to all your friends car and home systems, I guarrantee you'll be greatly enlightened by the experience.
