I'm using Pro Audio 9, and I selected to use the Roland GS patch on channel 10. I chose the TR 808 kit, and now that it's time to program and record, I'm not sure what to label my tracks. I tried audiovoid.com, but it wasn't right for the notes I had. Anyone know where I can get a map.

Are you talking about labeling individual drum tracks that you tap in with a midi keyboard? If so, it's a simple matter to listen and figure out which is the kick, the snare, the hihat and so on once you have them sounding with the proper midi notes.

Then label them 'kick', 'snare' and so on.

You don't need a map. Make your own.

i did find a map, and it's accurate to the T. i do see ur POV scientist, but that is a tad bit unaccurate when dealing with 6 different kick sounds. Plus, i can't tell the difference between a bongo and a conga.

You can tell the 808 kick from the rest - it's the one that goes 'boom'! ;)

Glad to hear your problem's solved, RS. :D

is there actually a map out there, or am I on my own?

I thought you said you found a map...

I think you're on your own on this one because most sample 'maps' or key assignments come with the sample set. I've never seen a sample map offered on its own, mostly --- IMHO --- because it would be such a tiny file and because there's such a limited demand for it.

Or were you hoping to hear from someone other than me?

no no, you'll do. I just thought that since pro audio came out with that sound set included, SOMEBODY on the internet would have the least amount of shit to do in their life that they would make one.

that's all.

PS. it's comforting to hear from anybody at this point.

if it weren't for the stuttering problem, I'd marry u.
